Introduction
We were approached by a web agency who were redesigning an automotive parts website. They wanted us to create a custom WordPress plugin for them which would allow visitors to search products based on the model and year of their car.
The plugin needed to offer all of the features that competitors’ sites did.
The website sells interior vehicle barriers fitting a number of different vehicle. The website uses WooCommerce to control inventory and serve up product pages, including images and product information. The “Find My Vehicle” plugin takes the car make, model and year from the WooCommerce products and makes them searchable with easy to use drop downs.
The user selects the options that apply to them and then hits search, which loads a separate results page with all of the relevant WooCommerce products for the user to browse.
The plugin is also fully responsive, fitting mobile, tablet and desktop displays.
