Introduction
Craig is a marketer from Los Angeles who has run the website voteforthepresidentonline.com for several years. In past years the site has attracted over 100,000 unique daily views. Craig wanted to completely redesign the website, with a focus on the site’s online poll.
The Vote For The President website has been online since before the 2016 US Presidential election, attracting upwards of 100,000 unique daily visitors around close to the election.
The new site needed to be responsive, easy to navigate and have a focus on the site’s online poll where people choose who they will vote for. They are then given the opportunity to sign up for the site’s newsletter.
As well as having a blog on the new site, all of the old website’s blog content needed to be imported. However the old website was no longer online. To get around this a custom built script was used to pull available content from the Wayback Machine at archive.org
The website has been customised to run through Cloudflare to help deal with the expected spike in traffic around the time of the 2020 US Presidential election.
